Shiyun Wang, BHSc (Hons)
Masters Student
Shiyun Wang is a first-year MSc student in Epidemiology and Applied Health Research at the University of Ottawa. Originally from Shanghai, she came to Canada as an international student and completed an Honours Bachelors of Health Sciences with a minor in Public Administration from the University of Ottawa. Her interest in nutrition began with studying epigenetics and the microbiome and has since expanded to the broader factors that shape nutrition and health, including how health policies are developed and influenced by different stakeholders. As she begins her graduate studies under the supervision of Dr. Zaltz, she looks forward to exploring these interests, gaining research experience, and building her skills in epidemiology and quantitative methods. Outside of her studies, Shiyun enjoys playing the piano and going to concerts.
